Sometimes, deactivating and activating the plugin will solve this problem. It  depends on hosting provider.

For Cari.net server, you will probably encounter this problem. To solve this:

Step 1: FTP to your newly installed website files

Step 2:  Go to   wp-content/plugins/cforms/js/

Step 3: Download cforms.js

Step 4: Please look for  this lines

Step 5: Replace “http://localhost/victoryfort/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_ajax.php”  with your website path http://<your domain>/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_ajax.php. Example:http://victoryfort.org/wp-content/plugins/cforms/lib_ajax.php

Clear your browser’s cache and try your contact form again.

The problem can be caused by an index.html copy on the root directory of your website folder.

To make sure that the error’s from this file only. Please go to <you website’s domain>/wp-admin —- this should show your wordpress admin login. If this is working, it means your website’s installed properly and one index.html’s causing the default page to show.

How to solve this problem:

Step 1: Plese go to your root web folder. For Bluehost your main domain’s web folder’s on <your server path>/public_html. This is your website’s absolute path.

Step 2: Rename your index.html to _index.html or delete the file. (Be careful to delete index.html only)

After completing this steps, check if your website’s now reading index.php  by going  to domain.ex. victorymalate.org. This will show the “iconic theme” home page, if you can’t go to the inside page links like <your website’s domain>/about, please read this tutorial for solution.

Some server’s read index.html even if there’s a index.php on the root web folder, some server simply read index.php instead. You will encounter this problem depending on your server/hosting provider. You may encounter this if your hosting on Bluehost.

For your domain to point to your host (example: bluehost) your nameservers should be the nameservers of your host.

The Nameservers for Bluehost.com are:

ns1.bluehost.com 74.220.195.31
ns2.bluehost.com 69.89.16.4

You need to contact your Registrar (the company you bought your domain name from). And let them know you need to change your name servers to the ones listed above. Most registrars allow you to make the changes yourself online. If you know your login and username to their site make the changes yourself and 24 to 48 hours later the domain name will be pointing to your Bluehost.com account. You may have an email from your registrar from when you first bought the domain name. NOTE: Please proceed with caution or help with an experienced administrator. Especially if your migrating an existing running website.

Please copy/remember  your database’s username and password. You will need this information for your wp-config.php file. Please refer to your manual for installation instructions. If you don’t have a copy kindly ask your church staff to download it from Pastor’s Resource.

To solve the problem:

Step 1. Login on your <your website>/wp-admin

Step 2. Go to Settings->Permalinks

Step 3. On the toggle choices, choose Custom Structure and
put this on the text box   /%postname%.html

Step 4. and Save Updates
Step 5. If your server allows this process, meaning wordpress will be allowed to write on your server’s directory.
This will create a .htaccess file solving the inside page links.

Most likely upon installing Apache on Windows you will run into .htaccess problem.

What’s this problem? Rewrite rule on Apache. After successfully connecting Apache you will discover that windows does not read .htaccess file. This file allows writing your URL link nicely and SEO friendly.

To solve this problem and run local church website project smoothly:Enable .htaccess for Windows

Step 1. Make sure you have setup apache and php correctly. Make sure that you can run php scripts without any problem.

Step 2. Use notepad to open httpd.conf config file. Make use the line “LoadModule rewrite_module modules/mod_rewrite.so” is un-commented.

Step 3. Under “<directory XXX></directory>” section, change the line “AllowOverride None” to “AllowOverride All“.

Step 4. Change the line “AccessFileName .htaccess” to “AccessFileName htaccess“. This is because in Windows, we can’t have a file with filename that starts with a dot.

Step 5. Save the changed file and restart Apache Windows Service. You can then use the file htaccess to process your url rewritting.
